«ألقت الطائرات، مع قنابلها، نشرة مطبوعة ممضاة من فخامتكم، وفيه سؤال للدروز عن سبب اشتراكهم في الحرب، إلى آخر ما ورد فيها».
«فيا فخامة المندوب نرجو أن يكون للحقائق عندك مكان واسع حتى إذا أردت أن تطلع على حقيقة أسباب هذه الثورة وما سبقها منذ ست سنوات في أماكن مختلفة من البلاد السورية تيسر لك ذلك دون أن تضطر إلى قبول التقارير الرسمية والمبنية في الأكثر على معلومات غير صحيحة كما وقع لأسلافك. الدروز لم يعتدوا على الفرنساويين بل أجبروا على شدة وقسوة وأمور مخالفة لمصالحهم وللعدل مدة طويلة. وأثناء ذلك كانوا يجربون بكل الوسائل إسماع شكواهم إلى ممثل فرنسا فكانت مساعيهم السلمية تذهب سدى حتى تفاقم الأمر انفجرت هذه الثورة فكان ما كان».
«فالدروز يا فخامة المندوب السامي يحاربون في سبيل حرية البلاد واستقلالها وحقوق معترف بها وفي سبيل شرفهم الذي أهين مرات عديدة وكل منصف يعذرهم في ذلك ويعذرهم إذا انتبهوا هذه المرة لعدم الوقوع في خطيئات سياسية حتى لا يبقى سبب لتكرر وقوع الحرب».
«ومعلوم فخامتكم أن الثقة لا تتولد في النفوس لمجرد صدور الوعود، فإن التجارب الماضية التي جرت في زمن أسلافك الثلاثة لم تترك في نفوس السوريين عماماً والدروز خصوصاً كبيراً من الثقة والاعتماد. لذلك ليس من الأمور الهينة في الوقت الحاضر إقناع الشعب الدرزي وجميع الثوار بترك السلاح بلا قيد ولا شرط. إن حقوق الشعب الطبيعية التي لا تستطيع قوة بشرية قتلها وإخفائها..»
«فمتى صار الاعتراف بها للشعب السوري ودفع العمل بها على أساس متين يكفل حلول الولاء محل الجفاء فلا يبقى باعث لتجدد القتال ولا العداوة. وهذا أساس قد آن لحكومة الشعب الفرنساوي الحر الذي سبق الجميع إلى طلب حقوقه بثورة دموية هائلة أن تضعه فتكسب صداقة شعب كامل وتزيل من النفوس أثر السيئات الماضية التي سببت هذه الثورة وغيرها من قبلها».
«أظهرتم فخامتكم إشفاقكم على نساء الدروز وأطفالهم من الجوع وغيره، وفي الحقيقة الطريقة التي اتبعها الجيش الفرنساوي في رمي قنابل الطيارات والمدافع على المنازل والبيوت المأهولة بالنساء والأطفال هي أشد من الجوع والبرد، وتدل على قساوة لا يمكن أن ينكرها منصف كفخامتكم. ونؤكد لكم أن هذه القسوة الممنوعة بين الدول هي التي جعلت عموم الدروز يشعرون بالحقد على السلطة الإفرنسية ويصممون على مواصلة القتال».
«ويظهر لنا من عبارات هذه النشرة التي نحن بصددها أن فخامتكم لم تتوفقوا لتطهير محيطكم من الأشخاص الذين يحاولون تغطية غلطاتهم السياسية والإدارية بتضييع تقارير.. الاعتماد على بضعة أشخاص لا قيمة لهم عندنا ولا يقدرون أن يؤثروا في شيء جوهري بل يسيرون وراء المنافع الشخصية. ونعتقد أنه من الضروري أن نبيّن لفخامتكم أن الدروز ليسوا كما يصورهم لكم البعض، ولا يمكن أن يلعب بهم أحد. فقائد الثورة سلطان باشا الأطرش قد جعلت له القيادة برضا العموم من دروز وغيرهم، وقد سار على الخطة التي أجمع عليها الرأي العام».
«وكنا نظن يا فخامة المندوب أنكم تقدرون عواطفنا الوطنية حق قدرها فلا تتهمونا أننا آلة بيد الأجانب لذلك نكرر لفخامتكم أننا طلاب حقوق طبيعية مشروعة لا غبار عليها، ولا يوجد في تحقيقها ما ينافي مصلحة الشعب الفرنساوي الحر».
«والخلاصة أننا نؤكد لفخامتكم أنكم بإجابتكم البلاد إلى مطاليبها تخدمون الإنسانية ووطنكم خدمة كبرى تسجل لكم بمداد الفخر. ومن أهم المطاليب، الاعتراف بالاستقلال، واستبدال الحالة الحاضرة بشكل يُتفق عليه ويضمن لفرنسا مصالحها دون أن تتحمل الخسائر العظيمة بالمال والرجال، ودون أن تضطر البلاد إلى حمل السلاح دائماً لأجل الوصول إلى غاية شريفة لا تعجز حكمتكم عن تحقيقها بصورة سلمية».
«والبلاد يا فخامة المندوب غير مستعدة لقبول التجزئة المضرّة، وحيث أن جمعية الأمم هي الهيئة التي اتفقت على إيجادها دول العالم المعظمة ومنها حكومتكم، حكومة فرانسا، لأجل منع الخصام بين الشعوب. فنحن نرى أن يكون الاتفاق الذي تطلبه البلاد مسجلاً لدى جمعية الأمم».
«غني عن البيان أن هذه النقط كلها لا يمكن حلها بواسطة النشرات والمخابرات غير الرسمية. بل يُتخذ لها طرق أخرى كاعتماد مفوضين يمثلون رغائب الجميع».
The Revolution Command’s response to the statement made by the High Commissioner De Jouvenel to the people of Jabal Druze

« His Excellency the High Representative Monsieur De Jouvenel »..
«The aircrafts dropped, along with bombs, a publication signed by Your Excellency, some of which a question to the Druze asking the reason for their participation in the war ».
« We hope, Your Excellency the Representative, that you have an open mind for the facts so if you wanted to look at the real causes of this revolution and what happened in the previous six years in different parts of the Syrian countries, it would be easy for you to do so, without having to accept the official reports that are based mostly on incorrect information as happened to your predecessors. Druze did not attack the French but for a long time were forced to do so because of the severity and cruelty and other things that are contrary to their interests and justice. In the meantime they were experimenting via all means to make their complaints heard by the representative of France, but their peaceful endeavors went in vain causing the situation to aggravate which led to the launch of this revolution, and rest is history ».
« The Druze, Your Excellency the High Representative, are fighting for the freedom and independence of the country and for their recognized rights as well as for their honor, which was insulted many times. Every fair person will excuse them for that and will also excuse them if, this time, they paid attention to not fall into the political mistakes so that there won’t be a reason for a recurrence of war ».
« Your Excellency, you know well that trust is not generated in the soul just for the mere issuance of promises. Past experiences that took place during the era of your three predecessors did not leave in the hearts of the Syrians generally, and especially the Druze, a high level of confidence and reliance. It is therefore not a trivial matter at the present time to convince the Druze people and all the rebels to unconditionally put down their weapons. It is the natural rights of the people that no human force can exterminate it or obscure it. »
« Until those rights become recognized for the Syrian people and advancements in that regard are based on a strong foundation that ensures the replacement of estrangement with loyalty then there would be no motive for the renewed fighting and hostility. The time has come for the government of the free French people who led all nations by demanding their rights through a massive bloody revolution to put this strong foundation which would lead to winning friends among the entire people and remove from their souls the impact of past malice that has caused this revolution and other things before that».
« You have shown your Excellency your kindness towards the hungry Druze women and their children, but in fact the way in which the French army throw bombs from the airplanes, and the canons shelling the houses that were inhabited by women and children is worse than hunger and cold, and indicates cruelty that cannot be denied by an equitable person like your Excellency. We assure you that this cruelty, which is prohibited between countries, made all Druze feel hatred towards the French authority and more determined to continue fighting ».
« It appears to us from the words of this publication that we are questioning if your Excellency has not succeeded in purging your surroundings of people who are trying to cover their political and administrative mistakes by losing reports, or of the reliance on few people who we don’t consider them of value and incapable of influencing anything essential, they are merely after personal benefits. We believe it is necessary to point out to your Excellency that the Druze are not as some portrays to you, and they cannot be swayed by anyone. The revolution leader is Sultan Pasha Al-Attrache who was given the leadership with public’s consent of Druze and others, and he has followed a plan that was agreed upon by public opinion ».
« We thought Your Excellency the Representative, that you appreciate our national emotions for its true value, so don’t accuse us of being robots in the hands of foreigners. Therefore, I reiterate to your Excellency that we are demanding our legitimate natural rights and there is nothing wrong with that. And there is nothing in achieving it that conflicts with the interests of the free French people ».
« In conclusion, we assure your Excellency that if you answer the country’s demands you will be doing humanity and your nation a great service that will be recorded in your favor with great pride. One of the most important demands is the recognition of independence, as well as the replacement of the current situation with an agreed upon plan that ensures the interests of France without incurring great losses in money and men, and without having the country to always bear arms in order to reach a very honest ambition, which your wisdom is not incapable of achieving it peacefully ».
«The country, Your Excellency the Representative, is not prepared to accept the harmful partition, since the United Nations is the body that have agreed to recognize it amongst other great world nation and one of which is your Government, the Government of France, in order to prevent disputes between people. We believe that the agreement that the country is demanding should be registered with the United Nations ».
« Needless to say, all these issues cannot be resolved by informal publications and communications. It should follow other methods such as the adoption of commissioned representatives representing peoples’ desire ».
